A luxury lodge at Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park is located in the south of Kenya, on the Tanzanian border, and is famous for its spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli has fantastic game viewing and is particularly well-known for its elephant population.
Over 600 bird species have been recorded in the park, with 40 species being prey birds. It is a paradise for bird lovers and watchers. The observation hill towers accessible during the day; the hilltop offers countless photographic views and an amazing sunset to behold.
Amboseli National Park is towered by Mt. Kilimanjaro, which stands 5896 meters high and is one of Kenya's earliest game sanctuaries. It is possible to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro or access Tsavo National Parks if staying in Amboseli.
Activities
Game drives, picnics, and walking safaris.
Accommodation
The park offers a wildly different Kenya safari tour, game drive, and accommodation experience.
When to visit
Amboseli can be visited at any time of year, but it is recommended to go in the dry months, which are from June to October and January to February. The short rains peak in November and the long rains in April and May; these months are not recommended for wildlife viewing.
Getting there
The park is located 365 kilometers southeast of Nairobi. Self-driving from Nairobi to the reserve is a good option. You can also drive from other parks if you’re doing a road trip around the country. Taking one of the daily scheduled flights from Nairobi to Amboseli’s airstrip is another option.
